Privacy policy

Last updated

This site is run by Kevin Penner in Manitoba, Canada. Reading it is anonymous: the pages carry no analytics and no advertising, the one small script on the home page (the website box) sends nothing anywhere, and nothing about you is recorded while you read.

Information reaches me only when you send it: by booking a call, by answering the free Instant Quote button questions, or by email. This page says what happens to it. Questions go to kevin@everybooking-mail.com.

What I collect

  • When you read the site: nothing that identifies you. The hosting company keeps short-lived server records, such as addresses and request times, to keep the site up and block attacks.
  • When you book a call or answer the Instant Quote button questions: your first and last name, email address, phone number, business website, the answers you pick, and the time you choose.
  • When you email me: your message, your address and anything you choose to put in it.

Why I collect it

  • To answer you, to hold the time you booked and to remind you about it.
  • To prepare for the call, which usually means reading the website you gave me.
  • To keep a record of our conversation so nobody has to ask you the same thing twice.
  • To send you the report you asked for, and occasional email about this work. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and replying "stop" works too.

Who else sees it

I don't sell your information and I don't give it to advertisers. These companies handle parts of it for me:

  • Everybooking, my own booking software, which stores the form answers, the quote record and the booked call.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts this site and serves its pages.
  • Google Workspace, where my email lives.
  • The tools that send my email, currently Amazon Web Services and Loops.

I also give information to others when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or my legal rights.

Where it is stored

These services run on servers in Canada and the United States, so your information may be stored or handled outside your own country, where local authorities may be able to reach it under their own laws. If that is a problem for you, email me instead of using the form and say so.

How long I keep it

I keep inquiry and booking records while there is a reason to: the conversation is live, you became a customer, or I need them for tax and legal records. When there is no reason left, I delete them. You can ask me to delete yours sooner.

Your choices

Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, and take back your consent at any time. Email kevin@everybooking-mail.com and I'll reply within 30 days. If you are in a place with its own rules, such as the United Kingdom or the European Union, tell me and I'll handle your request under those rules.

If you think I've got this wrong, you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies

This site sets none. The booking pop-up loads a page from my booking software, which does set its own. The cookie policy explains exactly what and when.

Children

This site is for business owners. It isn't meant for children, and I don't knowingly collect information about them. If a child has sent me something, email me and I'll delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and the booking records sit behind accounts only my team can open. No system is perfect, so please don't send me anything highly sensitive, such as card numbers or identification documents, through the form or by email.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters to people who have already contacted me, I'll say so by email.
